He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of
man: that he may bring forth food out of the earth; And wine that makes glad the heart of man,
and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengthens man's
heart. Psalm 104:14-15
Goshen Essentials
are offered, not to create reasons to need oils, but for those who are seeking
a more natural approach to health.
Essential oils are noted for improving general well being and providing
alternative comfort in preference to over the counter products.
Goshen Essentials Basic is similar to a “first aid kit” containing essential oils and blends that address the common complaints of the average household, such as headaches, stress, restless nights, and a little extra boost to help ward off “what’s going around.”
Goshen Essentials Basic is not recommended for day in day out use, but rather on a temporary basis. There are some blends that may be helpful with chronic conditions, but just as with any treatment, our bodies can build a tolerance to essential oils. *If you are aware of a chronic condition, then make sure your health care provider is aware of your alternative choices. Some do not believe essential oils have any affect, while others do value the natural remedies our Creator has provided.
Health care providers, be they allopathic or naturopathic should be made aware of any variables introduced, including essential oils.
We do not recommend ingestion of essential oils, and many in
the field apparently concur. Here is a
quote from “Aroma Therapy An A-Z” by Patricia Davis, in the section in which
she addresses toxicity.
“I would like to
empahsise that in speaking of toxicity – or in plain terms, poisoning – I am
not only referring to taking essential oils by mouth. This is by far the most dangerous method of
use, and you will realise from many other entries in this book that I neither use nor recommend
the use of essential oils in this way.
The majority of responsible aroma therapists share this view and most of
the professional organisations require their members to give an undertaking not
to recommend internal use.
However, essential oils are very effectively absorbed into
the body, whether we inhale them or apply them to the skin, and they find their
way into the bloodstream. It is this
very fact which makes aromatherapy the effective system which it is . . .”
Essential oils are best used aromatically or topically, and
with proper caution.
Many may be directly inhaled, neat, or with proper dilution
when applying topically through massage or bath. Oil may be massaged into pulse points,
reflexology points, included in massage oil, dispersed in an oil diffuser lamp
or by adding a couple of drops into a soothing bath.
Goshen Essentials,
not only includes written recommendation for use, but each bottle is also
labeled with color coding as an additional safety measure for care in use.
WHITE labels are single essential oils that may be safely
applied “neat,” which is without dilution.
IVORY labels are essential oil blends that may be applied
directly on skin or added to bath without dilution.
PINK labels are blends that contain warming oils that require
dilution, but also include essential oils that can be administered neat and act
as carrier oils, such as grapeseed, cucumber, or evening primrose. Pink labels also indicate the presence of
photosensitizing oils, such as bergamot.
Pink Label blends are considered
safe to be inhaled directly, and applied to pulse points, or specific
reflexology points.
Since the oils that can be administered “neat” are in direct
ratio, dilution is indicated for massage or bath. Fractionated coconut oil or Extra Virgin
Olive Oil are favorite carrier oils here in the Land of Goshen. 3-6 drops of essential blend per 10 ml. of
carrier oil.
LIGHT BLUE labels indicate oil blends, that may also be applied directly on skin or
added to bath, but care in use is recommended.
Every product with a light blue label, contain essential oils reported
to affect mood, relax, or have a calming effect. Driving is not recommended after use. Some of these blends have been reported to
relax, cause drowsiness, even lower blood pressure. If you are taking medication or have issues
in these areas, please be advised and consider proper caution before use.
RED labels definitely contain blends of strong or hot
essential oils that should be diluted before application in massage or
bath. May be irritant free in oil
diffuser lamp or inhalation, but precaution is recommended.
Goshen Essentials have not been tested or approved by the FDA.
All Single Essential Oils are labeled: 100% Pure, according to our supplier.
